Description

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to provide technical leadership across DevOps and Quality Assurance (QA), ensuring the quality, reliability, and automated testing of mature prototypes and data projects prior to transition to mission partners. This role will provide hands-on technical leadership across CI/CD, automated testing, software quality, and data-processing workflows while bridging technical requirements between the Scrum Master, Product Owner, engineering teams, and customer stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and develop complex systems supporting CI/CD, automated testing, and quality assurance.
  • Review code and establish technical approaches that improve software quality, reliability, and deployment readiness.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated testing solutions for mature prototypes and data-processing applications prior to operational use.
  • Investigate and resolve ad hoc requests, software defects, and bug fixes related to data parsing, testing, and QA from transition partners.
  • Collaborate with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, engineers, and customers to identify technical requirements and resolve development challenges.
  • Participate in customer engagements and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and work independently to solve complex technical problems.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages and modern CI/CD and DevOps tooling.
  • Experience with tools such as Atlassian Bamboo, GitLab, Cypress, Python, Bash, and/or Ansible.
  • Strong experience with automated testing, software quality assurance, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
  • Experience supporting data-processing, data-parsing, or complex software applications.
  • Strong software architecture, code review, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance and support work conducted through SCI channels.
  • Ability to work in McLean, VA; Huntsville, AL; or remotely, as required by the program.
