Description

We are hiring a Senior Reverse Engineer to lead complex software reverse engineering efforts across a wide range of target systems, applications, and platforms. This role will analyze encrypted, obfuscated, and compiled software across mobile, vehicle, unmanned, and other specialized platforms and develop custom tools that inform and enhance digital forensic capabilities. The successful candidate will provide senior technical leadership, mentor engineering staff, and collaborate with technical and customer stakeholders to solve complex software analysis challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex software reverse engineering efforts involving compiled, encrypted, and obfuscated applications across diverse platforms and operating systems.
  • Disassemble, analyze, and document software, application binaries, and machine code to identify functionality, data structures, and data locations.
  • Develop custom software applications and tooling to support reverse engineering and digital forensic capabilities.
  • Analyze binaries and obfuscated code to identify hidden functionality, embedded data, and system behavior.
  • Apply advanced debugging and binary analysis techniques to investigate complex software and operating system behavior.
  • Collaborate with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, engineers, and customers to resolve technical challenges and communicate project requirements.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level personnel and provide technical guidance on reverse engineering methodologies and tools.
  • Participate in customer engagements and translate complex technical concepts into clear information for non-technical stakeholders.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of professional software reverse engineering experience.
  • Extensive experience reverse engineering binary, machine-level, and obfuscated application code.
  • Strong proficiency analyzing Java, Swift, Objective-C, C, C++, JavaScript, and Android/iOS application code.
  • Expert-level knowledge of assembly language, including ARM Assembly.
  • Experience with debuggers and dynamic analysis tools such as GDB and Frida.
  • Experience with binary analysis and reverse engineering tools such as IDA Pro, Ghidra, and JADX.
  • Experience analyzing software across diverse platforms, including mobile devices, vehicles, drones/UAS, and other specialized systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop custom software tools and applications to support reverse engineering and digital forensics.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, software development, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor technical personnel and work independently on complex technical challenges.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to work in McLean, VA; Huntsville, AL; or remotely, as required by the program.
