Data Intelligence, LLC (DI) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Navy DoD Engineer with expertise in the operation, maintenance, logistical support, or testing of Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) or other similar systems installed on U.S. Navy surface ships or submarines. The ideal candidate will support engineering, technical assessments, system upgrades, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of critical Navy systems.
This position is 90% remote with trips required to NSWCPD at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. There will also be 10% CONUS travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering and technical support for HM&E systems, including electrical, mechanical, and auxiliary equipment.
- Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and failure analysis to ensure reliability and operational readiness.
- Develop and review technical documentation, including engineering change proposals, maintenance procedures, and system specifications.
- Collaborate with Navy personnel, shipyards, and vendors to support maintenance, modernization, and upgrades of shipboard equipment.
- Conduct on-site inspections, evaluations, and technical support for shipboard installations and overhauls.
- Support logistics, supply chain management, and sustainment planning for HM&E components and subsystems.
- Utilize engineering principles to analyze and resolve technical issues related to shipboard system performance and lifecycle management.
- Ensure compliance with NAVSEA, DoD, and other military standards and regulations.
- Provide training and mentoring to junior engineers and technical staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Marine, or related field) from an accredited university.
- Experience in U.S. Navy HM&E systems, including operation, maintenance, testing, or logistics support.
- Active Secret clearance (or higher).
- Strong understanding of DoD acquisition processes, NAVSEA programs, and shipboard engineering systems.
- Proficiency in technical documentation, system analysis, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Experience working with Navy shipboard maintenance, installation, and modernization programs.
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, military personnel, and technical teams.
- Willingness to travel to shipyards, naval facilities, or fleet locations as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or working toward licensure.
- Experience with shipboard control systems, power distribution, HVAC, or auxiliary systems.
- Familiarity with Navy technical manuals, MIL-STDs, and NAVSEA engineering processes.
- Knowledge of Configuration Management (CM), Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM).
