Description

Data Intelligence, LLC is seeking a part-time skilled Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support a top-tier federal client engaged in national security and counterterrorism operations. This position, based in Vienna, VA, plays a critical role in securing complex IT systems in a high-visibility, mission-driven environment. The selected candidate will work closely with government and contractor stakeholders to ensure compliance, manage risk, and defend against evolving cyber threats.

This position is part-time and is for 8 hours per week. The work location is fully on-site in Vienna, VA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support system security planning, implementation, management, and maintenance in accordance with federal cybersecurity standards and requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with agency security policies, FISMA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Monitor and manage security controls and respond to cybersecurity incidents and events.
  • Conduct system risk assessments and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain and update system security plans (SSPs), POA&Ms, and other security documentation.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders on A&A activities and provide continuous monitoring of system security postures.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience serving as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) or in a closely related cybersecurity role.
  • Experience supporting systems within a 24/7 operational environment.
  • Strong understanding of systems security requirements, cybersecurity policies, and federal information security practices.
  • Hands-on experience supporting cybersecurity incident response, investigation, and management.
  • Familiarity with recognized cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
  • Experience using threat monitoring and security event management platforms.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity technologies and tools, including firewalls, IDS/IPS solutions, and SIEM platforms.
  • Understanding of network protocols, network architecture, and associated security considerations.
  • Knowledge of data encryption methods and cryptographic key management practices.
  • Experience supporting compliance with FISMA and related federal cybersecurity requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems and their associated security features and controls.
  • Experience developing, implementing, or maintaining internal security policies, agency standards, and cybersecurity procedures.
  • Proficiency with cybersecurity risk assessment, risk analysis, and risk management methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience configuring, administering, or managing cybersecurity tools and security systems.

Required Certifications (One or more):

  • CISSP
  • CISSO
  • CISM
  • CISA

Security Clearance:

  • Top Secret / SCI with CI Polygraph
