Description

Data Intelligence, LLC is seeking an experienced Database Developer to support the Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC PAC) in San Diego, CA. This full-time position plays a critical role in designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining database solutions supporting a mission-driven U.S. Navy environment. The selected candidate will work across the full software development lifecycle, leveraging strong Oracle and PL/SQL expertise to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performing database solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain robust database structures, objects, and supporting solutions.
  • Develop and maintain Oracle database objects, including tables, indexes, constraints, views, queries, procedures, packages, and triggers.
  • Develop and maintain database functionality using SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Support database integration with web applications using JSON and other data exchange formats.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including Planning, Requirements, Design, Build, Document, Test, Deploy, and Maintain.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, resolve, and document database-related software defects and operational issues.
  • Develop database scripts to create, modify, populate, and maintain database schemas and objects.
  • Support data extraction, transformation, and loading activities as required.
  • Collaborate with developers, technical teams, stakeholders, and end users to understand application requirements and develop effective database solutions.
  • Apply secure development practices and support database changes required to meet cybersecurity and system security requirements.
  • Contribute to the performance, reliability, maintainability, and security of supported database environments.
  • Evaluate and recommend database development tools and technologies to improve application capabilities and development efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years of database programming experience supporting the life cycle of a corporate information system
  • Experience with Oracle 12c or greater developer tools, including SQL*Plus and SQL Developer
  • Demonstrated experience using SQL to create and maintain table structures, indexing, table constraints, user and role privileges, views, and queries
  • Experience using SQL aggregate functions such as COUNT and SUM
  • Development of procedures, packages, and triggers using PL/SQL
  • Experience using the JSON data exchange format with web applications
  • Hands-on experience across the full software development cycle: Planning, Requirements, Design, Build, Document, Test, Deploy, and Maintain
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve software defects

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with SQL Server 2016 developer tools, including SQL Server Management Studio
  • Development of procedures, packages, and triggers using Transact-SQL (T-SQL)
  • Familiarity with the Linux operating system and experience writing shell scripts to automate processes
  • Experience developing Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL) tools and scripts
  • Experience performing software upgrades and database modifications to comply with cybersecurity policy requirements, including encryption, user rule enforcement, and Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) remediation
  • Experience working with XML
  • Ability to design data models that meet application requirements, including tables, views, indexes, and related database objects
  • Experience developing database scripts for creating and modifying database schemas and objects
  • Experience developing and maintaining database packages, procedures, and functions
  • Ability to troubleshoot, resolve, and document database-related problems
  • Experience developing database scripts for the extraction, transformation, and loading of data
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate new software products and development tools to enhance application capabilities and meet evolving requirements, including enhanced debugging and database development tools such as TOAD

Security Clearance

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the level of security clearance required to support NIWC PAC and the applicable U.S. Navy mission.
