Description

Data Intelligence (DI) is looking for a full time Cloud Platform Architecture. This is a remote position but you need to travel to Massachusetts, Philadelphia or Langley once a month.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the Chief Platform Architect as well as other teams across the enterprise as needed.
  • Conduct discovery work, architect, strategize, and manage Cloud Migration activities including the use of but not limited to: AWS MGN Services, Data Transfer Services (DTS), Kubernetes, Terraform, and other AWS services as required.
  • Leading the migration off of Tanzu Application Services (TAS) Platform technologies to a modernized platform that uses open-source container orchestration systems for automating software deployment, scaling, and management (such as but not limited to Kubernetes).
  • Defining cloud migration requirements: The Senior Systems Engineer will manage, design and implement cloud migration strategies supporting continual smooth functioning of hosted applications during expected migration timeline.
  • Management of the cloud migration process: The Cloud Platform Architect will collaborate with teams across the platform to ensure compliance with technically enforced guidance, timely execution of migration timelines and make necessary trade-offs to keep the migration on track, ensuring that migration architecture and execution adhere to organizational cybersecurity policies.
  • Conduct application discoveries and build out check-lists and processes for repeatable tasks
  • Establish onboarding path funnels assisting teams transition to a cloud native architecture
  • Measuring and optimizing product performance: The Senior Systems Engineer will measure performance and gather feedback to continuously optimize the product.

The Cloud Platform Architect will contribute to building and testing cloud migration strategies and workflows, emphasizing speed and agility in the development processes to quickly respond to feedback, and continuously measure and optimize to ensure that the product meets warfighter needs and the business goals of the enterprise. More specifically, the Senior Systems Engineer will employ the following:

  • Apply knowledge with: AWS Services, Terraform, Kubernetes/Containerization technology/configuration, software development tools and processes (github, agile development, etc), and provide backend and platforms engineering oversight.
  • Work directly with teams to test and optimize cloud migration factory architecture and workflow processes.
  • Emphasize speed and agility in assisting the migration to a stable cloud native architecture, continuously taking into account the needs of the enterprise, aligning with leaderships vision and responding to feedback.
  • Continuously measure and optimize pipeline configuration to ensure that it meets mission requirements and adheres to cybersecurity policies.

Certifications and additional information:

  • DoD 8140 IAT II
  • Computing Environment (CE) Certification (AWS Pro Cert preferred)
  • Ability to work in SIPRNet environments as required
  • At least secret level security clearance
